'The White Lotus' Season 3 Filming Boosts Tourism in Koh Samui

The third season of HBO's acclaimed series, The White Lotus, has captivated audiences worldwide, not only for its gripping narrative but also for its breathtaking settings. This season, the spotlight shines brightly on Thailand's Koh Samui, where much of the series was filmed. The inclusion of Lalisa Manobal, popularly known as Lisa from BLACKPINK, has further heightened the show's appeal, drawing attention from both fans and travelers alike.​

Filming commenced in February 2024, with the production team and actors immersing themselves in the island's vibrant culture and stunning landscapes. The Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui served as the primary backdrop, offering viewers a glimpse into the island's luxury and natural beauty.  Additional scenes were captured at notable locations such as the Anantara Bophut Koh Samui Resort and the cultural park Dusit Dhewa, showcasing the island's rich heritage.

The presence of Lisa in the series has not only delighted fans but also sparked a significant boost in tourism to Koh Samui. Following the premiere on June 17, 2025, interest in the island surged, with Thai media reporting a 65% increase in searches compared to the previous month. Hotel bookings experienced a sharp rise, with Agoda noting a 12% increase in searches and a 40% spike in luxury hotel reservations. 

The success of The White Lotus season three is a testament to the collaborative efforts of local businesses, authorities, and the warm hospitality of Koh Samui's residents. Their support ensured a smooth production process, allowing the series to authentically capture the island's essence. Viewers can now experience the allure of Koh Samui firsthand by streaming the latest season of The White Lotus on Max.​

As the series continues to garner acclaim, Koh Samui stands poised to welcome a new wave of visitors eager to explore the paradisiacal locales showcased on screen.
